1830s - Civil War Reenactor Drawstring Skirt Open Bodice 5 pc Costume Face Mask

Perfect for a reenactment or historic docent work. I created this design by combining features found on day and evening gowns from Godey's and La Modes 1830 thru 1860s. For consideration is a lace and applique trimmed
5pc outfit of a
handmade drawstring-waist skirt, matching pelerine/bodice, lace choker, & reversible face mask. Fabric is an ivory, medium weight made up of natural fibers (by burn test) that I think are cotton and linen. The "v" neckline pelerine-style bodice with long, decorated basques is a crossed piece (hand tacked into place so it will stay nicely) with open sides. Can be worn on or off shoulder (may need extra support if you have a small shoulder size) and over a simple chemise or sleeved blouse depending on whether you want a day or night look. It can also be worn with either side you choose as the front or back. It is edged with a gathered ivory lace with a grayish brown floral design in it. Areas are accented with floral appliques which have more of a gray lone in natural light and more brown tone indoors. There is also a heavier, venice lace on the neckline and the matching choker is also made of that lace. The choker has 5 matching gems sewn onto it and a simple ribbon tie back. There is also an ivory satin ribbon waist sash with floral applique accents on the front center.to hold the bodice closed. The drawstring waist skirt ties at the back seam with a matching brown twill thru a 1" wide waist band which is top stitched for a clean finished look.
The
hem has the same lace trim as the bodice with a draped lace layer above it with the floral applique accents. It is ready for wear cannot be made longer. Can only be shortened by taking up at the waistline. If needed I can do it for you at an additional cost of .00, please let me know at time of purchase so there will be no delays in the shipping. Decent fullness so it can be worn, and is shown, over a crinoline (
which is not included in this sale
) and possibly some (but not all) hoop skirts so please see the sweep measurements. I have also included a reversible, cotton, contour style face mask that matches the dress colors on one side with a floral pattern and lace accents. The other side is a gray and white stripped print with lace applique accents. The face mask has gray, elastic ear loops. The style of this outfit, open-sided bodice and drawstring waist skirt allow for flexible fitting. All of the lace trims and appliques have been sewn on by hand for a quality look (which was a great deal of work on this outfit!!!!).
