Comments:
This Golden Gate So-Called Dollar is in really nice original condition. The fields are very nice with just a few minor marks, and some spots on both sides. There is some rub on the high points on both sides, all due to normal handling and storage. It has not been cleaned and has nice original color and lots of luster.
According to Wikipedia
:
The
Golden Gate International Exposition
(1939 and 1940), was held at San Francisco’s Treasure Island, was a World’s Fair celebrating the city's two newly built bridges. The
San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge
opened in 1936 and the
Golden Gate Bridge
in 1937. The exposition opened from February 18, 1939, through October 29, 1939, and from May 25, 1940, through September 29, 1940.
This So-Called Petroleum Dollar will make a great addition to either your So-Called Dollar, Golden Gate International Exposition, World’s Fair, petroliana or vintage medal collection.
