    Description

    Skirt is newly constructed of cotton homespun in an red and white plaid w/ fine black line.  It is intended to represent an every day item of the 1850s-1860s.  Skirt is knife pleated across the front and cartridge pleated for appropriate fullness at the back.  The pleats are handstitched tightly to the waistband.
    It will fit a 33-34 inch waist comfortably.
    Front length is 40 inches and tapers with an additional 3 inches of length at the back.  There is a 3.5 inch hem around the full 128 inch circumference of the skirt hemline.  Skirt closes with two heavy skirt hooks at the back.   Opening is about 10 inches deep.
