Golden Gate Exposition 82 Year Old Mint Vintage Stamp Block from 1939

Description

A beautiful collectible set of four U.S. postage stamps issued in 1939 to commemorate the Golden Gate International Exposition, the World's Fair held in San Francisco that year. The fair celebrated the opening of two new bridges (the Golden Gate Bridge which opened in 1937 and the Oakland Bay Bridge which opened in 1935).
The stamps feature "The Tower of the Sun" which symbolized the Pageant of the Pacific theme. The tower rose 400 feet high and was surrounded by four statues which represented Science, Agriculture, Industry and Art.
These stamps have never been used and are as fresh as the day they were sold at the Post Office over 80 years ago! Suitable for framing, they would make a great gift to anyone interested in World's Fair memorabilia or anyone who has fallen in love with the beautiful city of San Francisco!
