Description
San Francisco Worlds Fair G.G.I.E. 1939 Ephemera Bundle LotMy stepdad visited the San Francisco Treasure Island World’s Fair in 1939 when he was just a boy. His grandparents took him. A few years later he started collecting World’s Fair memorabilia. 70 + years later my step-dad is gone and his collection (he collected many items from many different fairs, expos, and celebrations. Save my store and check back weekly for new lots and bundles).
This lot is for the following:
A printed burlap child’s vest “39er”
A metal bookmark with original hassle.
A paper cup from a coffee machine or kiosk.
A small California Building glass.
A small Cavalcade of a Nation 1940 pennant.
An ice pick.
A deck of cards.
A book of matches, unused, Old Gold cigarettes.
A small souvenir photo mounted in a metal rim frame with a pic of the expo on the back (Mills Sales Co.).
A small silver plate spoon 1939.
A Union Pacific aluminum coin.
An adjustable ring.
A Farrington Products coaster.
A glass bank.
An engraved cowrie shell 1939.
A complete Cineviews set in the original box.
A souvenir picture set with 12 pics (with descriptions on the back) in an envelope. The envelope says 8 pics so I don’t know the story, although the pictures look as if they were once attached to an album then removed leaving residue on the back, though the descriptions were unharmed. The envelope and pics all say copyrighted by Fred Mayer.
6 postcards.
A double souvenir photo of 2 gentleman at the fair.
Brochures inc;
A pre-fair brochure with projected attendance etc, an unused envelope, a program from The Federal Theater of The “Swing Mikado” WPA, CA dried fruit recipe brochure, an air mail envelope addressed to Honorable James A. Farley, Chairman, National Democratic Committee, Washington, D. C., Official Guide Book with unopened map intact in the front cover.
See the pictures for clarification on these items.
I have 1 other G.G.I.E. bundle with a bunch of cool stuff.
I am charged with selling some of my stepdad’s estate/collectibles for my mom. Save this store as a favorite as I will be listing bundles and singles for years to come, from games, political, sports, hollywood and civil war to an immense world class collection of various worlds fair and exposition pieces.
I bundle so that I will be able to get through everything, I will not break up bundles so please do not ask.
Check out my feedback as a buyer and a seller. I pack well and ship promptly. I purposefully place my auctions/sales on Saturday and Sunday so that I can ship on Monday so prompt payment equals fast turnaround shipping. If I receive a bid during the week I pack up the item so it’s ready to go Monday morning, I only ship 2 days a week so prompt payment equals prompt shipping. No returns. I take careful pictures and work hard on the descriptions so please, serious bidders only. US only.
