    Description

According to a guide put out by the Smithsonian Museum in 1984, by the serial number, this scale was manufactured between June 1908 and January 1912. Not sure when my grandmother got it (it may even have belonged to her parents), but I know she had it way before I was born (I'm 63). I'm sure she painted it once in her time of owning it, but I know it hasn't been touched since at least 1960 (my earliest memories of it). Everything on it is original.
It is in excellent working condition. It was my mom and dad's scale from 1978 when Grandpa and Grandma moved in with them. Dad, being the engineer he was, would do a calibration test on it at least once a year by weighing himself on it and another known accurate scale. He always preferred this one because it weighs you to a 10th of a pound. There are counterweights to weigh someone up to 250 pounds.
Looks great with a hanging plant hung on it, or as is.
