Welcome to BACMAC

BACmac was a small company that provides foreign exchange trading systems during the tail end of the last century. It was taken over by the Arab Banking Corporation and thence passed on to Actis in Lindon, Calleo and more recently to GFI Informatique. Traces of its products survive to this day in use in banks in London, Chicago and Singapore but they are no longer being actively marketed.

For those that worked in BACmac, its closing days were interesting times. As it fortunes wavered, the BACmac Escape Committee was formed and used to meet in secret in the basement of Dirty Dick's (a Youngs house on Bishopsgate) where they plotted their bids for freedom from their Arabian masters. This site is for the benefit of members of that group, hopefully to help keep them in touch with each other.
